Blotschenmarkt – Christmas Market in Mettmann

The Blotschenmarkt in Mettmann is one of the most traditional Christmas markets in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 1972, it has been inviting visitors to relax amid the historic setting around St. Lambertus Church. More than 40 lovingly decorated stalls offer a wide range of goods: from handcrafted items and gifts from the Neander Valley to culinary specialties like Finnish flame-grilled salmon and Swedish glögg. A special highlight is the roughly 40 individually decorated Christmas trees, designed by local school classes. Santa Claus listens to the wishes of the youngest visitors while a nostalgic carousel provides entertainment. The Blotschenmarkt combines a festive atmosphere with regional pride and is a must-visit for lovers of authentic Christmas markets.
