23rd Border Run Lauenburg – Boizenburg on November 8, 2026
Hello dear running friends from across the region and beyond,
we continue the successful story of our running event and look forward to the 23rd Border Run between the twin towns of Lauenburg/Elbe and Boizenburg/Elbe.
This event is a sporting way to commemorate the peaceful fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989.
The running groups of TuS Hohnstorf and SG Aufbau Boizenburg warmly invite you to the 2026 Border Run, which will take place this year on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
Here are some details about this year’s Border Run:
1. Start: Sunday, November 8, 2026, 10:00 AM at the Castle Main Building, Amtsplatz 6, 21481 Lauenburg/Elbe
approx. 9:50 / 9:55 AM: Opening / Starting signal by Lauenburg city president Elif Karagöz and mayor Thorben Brackmann
2. Finish: Günter-Ferber-Arena sports facility, Weg der Jugend 4 a, 19258 Boizenburg/Elbe
3. Bus shuttle service by Ludwigslust/Parchim public transport:
Departure around 9:20 AM from the finish location in Boizenburg back to Lauenburg (before the run)
Departure point: Günter-Ferber-Arena, Weg der Jugend 4 a, 19258 Boizenburg/Elbe
There is an opportunity to change clothes before the run in the new clubhouse of SG Aufbau Boizenburg, or to store change of clothes or other personal items in the locker rooms;
Clubhouse opens around 8:45 AM.
Whether there will be a shuttle bus back to Lauenburg after the run is not yet decided and depends on demand.
4. Shower facilities after the run:
Available in the new clubhouse of SG Aufbau Boizenburg
5. Parking:
On or in front of the grounds of the Günter-Ferber-Arena
6. Course: gently rolling 13.5 km, non-competitive (shorter distances or relays are also possible; walking or biking along the route is allowed)
7. Route:
Castle main building Amtsplatz 6 Lauenburg – Fürstengarten – Berliner Straße – canal bridge – bike path to Boizenburg – Hamburger Straße – Klingbergstraße – Reichenstraße – bike path toward train station – turn left just behind the church to the Günter-Ferber-Arena
8. Participation and bus shuttle service are free of charge
9. Refreshment station on the route at the bus stop Horst
10. At the finish: refreshments at reasonable prices in the new clubhouse of SG Aufbau Boizenburg
11. Each participant runs at their own risk; no liability is assumed for damages or lost valuables on the bus, in the clubhouse, or during the entire event.
12. Every participant receives a small gift at the finish

For better organization, please register by November 4, 2026, using the contacts above. We are happy to answer any questions.
Of course, registration is still possible after November 4, 2026 (including on race day). However, shuttle service may not be available in these cases.
