From Volcano to Ice Cave - Guided Introduction to the Ice Cave

Description
Helmet on and lights on!
Anyone entering the Birresborner Ice Caves will first feel a chill. No wonder, with temperatures that stay around 6 degrees Celsius year-round.
On site, you can explore three different caves in detail and vividly learn the stories these 2,000-year-old caves have to tell. Originally created by quarrying millstones, over the centuries the caves were used as ice cellars and valued as a refuge in times of crisis. Today, bats use the caves as their winter quarters.
