Description
Performing "Der Brandner Kaspar und das ewig Leben,"
a comedy in three acts by Kurt Wilhelm.
Who doesn't know the story of the crafty mountain farmer, Brandner Kaspar? How he manages, with plenty of cherry brandy and a cheating card game, to trick the "Buinerkromar" out of 18 years of his life? But Brandner Kaspar soon learns that interfering with fate does not bring blessings...
The board of the Theaterverein Ofterschwang and Conny Ney, the new director, saw that the classic could also be performed on small stages through the theater groups of Durach and Wildpoldsried, and from that moment on, they were excited about bringing "Brandner Kaspar" to the stage in Ofterschwang.
The project then took two years to mature! Many things had to be sorted out beforehand: finding the text, securing performance rights, convincing the theater club, and most importantly: getting the Ofterschwang Plattler group involved on stage. Once all points were settled, the text had to be adapted into dialect and printed. The theater club is especially grateful for the generous support of the municipality of Ofterschwang, including printing the texts, extensive advertising for the play, and presale of tickets!
Next came the stage design. Franz Abrell, Albert Marxer, and Karl Ney faced challenges building a set that could change with minimal effort between three scenes. Not to mention the transformation of the stage from "earthly" to heaven. Spontaneously, young talents Leni Marxer and Anna Rapp offered to artistically paint the set, for which the theater club is very grateful and sends a big thank you!
With lots of energy and enthusiasm, the actors took on their roles. Julia Haug, Gerhard Socher, and Reiner Walk will be seen in double roles this year. Franz Abrell plays Brandner Kaspar, and Monika Marxer portrays Buinerkromar, two very experienced actors in the lead roles. Melissa Sichler, Silas Keinath, and Magdalena Finkel complete the ensemble, and Matthias Walk joins as a new actor this year. The "Plattlerfehla" and "Plattlerbüebe" are also integrated, completing the troupe perfectly. Plus, the Plattlerbüebe skillfully bring a "special effect" to life – the audience can look forward to a surprise!
Jakob Marxer is "our technician" responsible for putting together the "right sounds at the right time," while Felix Abrell and Karl Ney handle the sound mixing.
Rehearsals have been intensive, and if you're curious about how the Theaterverein Ofterschwang brings this elaborate play "Der Brandner Kaspar und das ewig Leben" to their small stage, you can experience it at the Ofterschwang community center.
