Description

Experience history up close at the Ockenheim Local History Museum!

Dive into life from past eras and discover a fascinating exhibition about life around 1900 and 1950 at the Ockenheim Local History Museum. Be amazed by unique exhibits – and the special feature: in the cabinets and drawers of the exhibition rooms, you can explore for yourself what people once kept in their households.

Experience rural working life, learn about old professions, take a look inside nostalgic children's rooms, and be fascinated by historic kitchen appliances. An exciting trip back in time for the whole family!

This year, you can also look forward to two new special exhibitions: “Travel Fever of the 60s” takes you with the playful title “Liverwurst Sandwich on the Beach of Rimini” into the holiday and everyday culture of this eventful era. The exhibition “Switched Off? – Not at All!” shows under the motto “Old Lamps in a New Light” how historic lighting uniquely combines history, technology, and design.

Visit us and let yourself be inspired by the history of Ockenheim and its surroundings – an unforgettable experience awaits you!

Admission is free – we greatly appreciate voluntary donations.

The museum is open daily from 2 PM to 5 PM.
