For three days, Vienna’s Am Hof square turns into an exciting meeting place for young and grown-up firefighter fans. Families can get a close look at modern and historic fire engines, watch impressive live demonstrations, and discover how Vienna’s professional fire brigade and other emergency services work.
Children can get involved too: they can try using a real fire hose to put out a simulated “fire” and even enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the festival from a turntable ladder. Visitors can also discover some of the fire brigade’s specialist teams, including divers, high-angle rescue teams, drone operators and rescue dogs.
The 2026 festival also celebrates a special milestone: 340 years of the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade, with historic vehicles offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of firefighting in the city.
A fun, educational and action-packed family day in the heart of Vienna — with free admission and no registration required.
