Description

Set against the charming backdrop of the picturesque Schlossplatz, historic buildings, and timber-framed houses, lovingly decorated stalls shine with tempting delicacies and exquisite handicrafts.

Between sparkling fir trees, cozy seating areas invite you to enjoy hot mulled wine and punch or savory and sweet treats.

An extensive program including children's activities, choral music, and bands gets you into the reflective Advent spirit. Local choirs and brass musicians, as well as bands and jazz players, enhance the atmosphere with traditional Christmas carols and modern interpretations.

Young visitors to the Christmas market are drawn in by special activities like storybook hours, singing and dancing together, or exciting puppet theater tales. St. Nicholas and Santa Claus will also visit the Lessing city again, bringing small gifts.

The Christmas spirit extends beyond the Schlossplatz throughout the entire town center. Numerous new stalls and impressive light installations expand the Christmas market into the Old Town and invite visitors to linger and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

A cozy Christmas courtyard is set up in front of the Löwentor. The circular route continues through the Krambuden, across the square in front of Bankhaus Seeliger, and onto the city market. There, the traditional Peace Fir tree stands as a symbol of peace, international understanding, humanity, and solidarity. On weekends, the path leads on to the arts and crafts market in the Kommisse with its cozy Advent courtyard, before returning to the Schlossplatz. Thanks to the new Christmas market stalls, the pedestrian zone fills with the aromas of Swiss mulled wine, hot Wolfenbüttel cocktails, warming soups, and sweet apple crumble.
