Abenteuerspielplatz Großes Holz

The nature-focused adventure playground is located in the heart of the Großes Holz recreational area and is a fun experience all year round. Various wooden play equipment invites you to romp, climb, explore, and build.

The most popular play structures definitely include the giant slide, the rope course, the zip line, and the wooden labyrinth. In addition, there are swings, seesaws, climbing frames, a wooden tunnel, and a whole train made of wood. And if that’s not enough, feel free to bring your ball and play a round of soccer on the grassy field.

Numerous picnic tables with benches and shelters invite you to enjoy a hearty picnic right in the middle of it all. Usually, adults gather here to chat while the kids explore the spacious area. But even adults become kids again at the adventure playground!

The adventure playground is just one part of the Großes Holz recreational area. The forested area between Tarmstedt and Zeven is a well-known forest that even extends beyond the borders of Zeven. In this Lower Saxony state forest, both young and older explorers will find plenty to enjoy. The forest is managed by the Rotenburg Forestry Office and the Hepstedt district forestry.

Grill Hut Großes Holz

The rustic grill hut comes equipped with four charcoal grills and several resting spots. Here you can prepare your own food (charcoal, grilling items, etc.). The facility can be used free of charge from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. However, personal grills are not allowed due to fire hazard. Please also remember to leave the area clean.

Forest Educational Trail Großes Holz

If you want to learn more about the forest and its inhabitants, take a walk along the three-kilometer educational forest trail. At 18 stations, you’ll discover lots of interesting and useful information about the forest. A small wild boar mounted on a post guides visitors along the path, which is accessible with strollers and wagons.

NORDPFAD Zevener Geest

For an extensive circular hike, the 23 km long NORDPFAD Zevener Geest is recommended. It starts right at the Großes Holz parking lot. An orange overview board at the parking lot shows the hiking route, and small logo signs and waymarkers guide you along the trail.
