Albrecht-Dürer-Haus
Description
The Albrecht-Dürer-Haus in Nuremberg is one of the few preserved patrician houses from the city’s heyday and the only artist’s house from the 16th century in Northern Europe – here you can feel the truly authentic atmosphere of the Renaissance.
Since 1828, the house has been Germany’s first artist museum. Especially exciting are the costumed tours led by a performer who plays Agnes Dürer, the artist’s wife, bringing the history vividly to life for you.
In the workshop, the artist Sofia Fränkl demonstrates historical printing techniques – an interactive experience that also inspires creativity in the drawing area. Family-friendly costumed tours regularly take place, where Agnes guides children through the Dürer House in a way suitable for them.
