Alternativer Bärenpark Worbis

Whether confined in cramped cages with concrete floors, tiny circus wagons, or deep concrete pits – many bears in Germany still endure such conditions today for the amusement of visitors. Unfortunately, the needs and natural instincts of these wild animals are often ignored. Here, 9 brown bears and 2 black bears, along with a wolf pack, all rescued from unsuitable living conditions, are able to express their previously stifled instincts and enjoy the forest and ponds within a 40,000 m² natural outdoor enclosure. Each year, more of the bears at Alternativer Bärenpark Worbis settle into a natural winter rest in self-dug dens.

The bear park is open year-round from 10 a.m. Guided tours and adventure programs for groups are available by appointment.
