Description

Annapark was created from an old cemetery. In 1914, brewery owner Heinrich Bopp from Marburg suggested transforming this old cemetery into a garden monument in memory of his wife Anna from Kirchhain. He donated 15,000 Reichsmark twice (in 1914 and 1921) for the establishment and maintenance of Annapark, named after his wife.

Today, besides the war memorials, Annapark features a playground, senior play equipment, and several bocce courts. In addition, there are still significant gravestones and a 1856 monument commemorating four boys who drowned in the Klein.
