Description
At the BaierWeinMuseum Bach a. d. Donau, you get to experience history and winemaking up close! The museum showcases a historic Biethaus from the 14th century, documenting viticulture in Old Bavaria from Roman times to the present day.
One of the most exciting exhibits is one of the oldest German wine presses: a lovingly restored wooden press from 1615, a true one-of-a-kind. In the modern, multimedia-equipped exhibition room, a roughly 2000-year-old bronze statue of Bacchus discovered in the region impresses visitors.
The vineyard trail at their own vineyard highlights important regional white and red wine varieties with information boards and outdoor installations. Nature and wine enthusiasts of all ages are invited to actively participate in free hands-on courses and thus contribute to the museum’s wine production.
After the grape harvest, practical cellar workshops offer everyone interested the chance to learn about the journey of wine from must to finished bottle. The extensive outdoor grounds around the museum and vineyard are always freely accessible.
