Description

The Baumkronenpfad im Nationalpark Hainich takes you on a 540-meter journey through the treetops of the ancient forest, offering a unique walk 24 meters above the ground. From a 44-meter-high observation tower, you get impressive views over the area.

There are special explorer backpacks for families, birthday parties, and school groups that make experiencing nature exciting and interactive.

The path is accessible, making it easy to use with strollers or wheelchairs.

  • A large playground and plenty of climbing options right next to the national park center – perfect for little ones to play and burn off energy.

  • The miniature world at the entrance is a real highlight for children.

  • The interactive nature experience “Discover the Secrets of Hainich” playfully teaches about the national park and its world heritage status.

  • The “root cave” takes you underground to reveal the hidden world of the forest.

  • Dogs are very welcome but are not allowed on the path – convenient dog boxes are available at the tower.
