At bazén Hloubětín in Prague, families splash around in a very special pool: it is the only swimming pool in Prague with salt water and the first of its kind in the entire country. The salt content is around 0,5 % – far below that of the sea (2–3,8 %). The water is said to be especially gentle and to neither sting the eyes nor make them red.

The water is pleasantly warm at about 26,5–27,5 °C. In summer, the outdoor pool is an added draw, where you can relax by the water in the sun. The facility is suitable for children from age 3 and young people from 6 to 18. Beyond that, there is plenty for kids and adults alike:

• Swimming lessons for children, as well as parent-and-child swimming, offered by a swim school on site

• The synchronized swimming club SK Neptun, Prague's largest, is based here and supports young talent

• A sports hall for ball games, fitness and other sports

• Two tennis courts, supplemented in winter by an inflatable hall
