Description

Burg Baden in Badenweiler invites you on an exciting journey of discovery through a historic castle ruin, offering children and families a vivid glimpse into medieval architecture.

On the castle hill, you’ll find impressive multi-story wall remains and a climb up the tower with breathtaking panoramic views over the Black Forest, the Rhine Valley, and the Vosges – a real highlight for young and old explorers alike.

The culturally rich park surrounding the castle offers plenty to explore: themed gardens like the Hildegard-von-Bingen-Garten with medicinal plants and the Gutedel grape botanical garden make the visit educational and varied. Exciting monuments such as the monument to Grand Duke Friedrich I and a tribute to the writer Anton Chekhov add historical and literary touches.

The romantic Belvedere – a historic tea and pleasure house from the early 19th century – serves as a special venue in the summer, for example for weddings, offering a wonderful atmosphere.

A special experience is the partially reconstructed Wandelbahn, a historic covered iron walkway that invites you to enjoy a relaxed stroll and discover historical architecture even in bad weather.
