Description

The Burgmuseum Mitterfels showcases a unique collection of folk culture and everyday items from the Lower Bavarian Forest 🏰. These are displayed in a historic prison wing from the 18th century, giving the exhibition an exciting atmosphere.

The museum is part of the old Mitterfels castle, which dates back to the late 12th century and for a long time served an important judicial and administrative role. This brings the history of the place to life in a vivid and engaging way.

For school groups and families, guided tours are available on request, offering a deeper insight into local history and especially suited for children and young people up to 18 years old.
