Description

The Burgruine Neurandsberg offers you an exciting mix of medieval ruins and the nearby Wallfahrtskirche Mariä Geburt 🏰⛪. For children and families interested in history and architecture, there is plenty to discover, such as the main castle walls remaining up to four meters high and fascinating half-tower structures of the outer defensive walls.

A great family outing is the Hiking Trail No. 5 Schlossberg Circular Route, which at 3.2 kilometers and a moderate 110-meter elevation gain is also well suited for older kids. This little loop invites you for a half-day walk with wonderful views.

Especially appealing is the annual Burgspektakel Neurandsberg on August 15 – here you can experience knight tournaments, archery, and medieval performers. This offers a lively historical experience for the entire family.

The Wallfahrtskirche Mariä Geburt just below the ruins can be visited on guided tours. This makes the trip a cultural experience as well.

  • Wonderful viewpoints over the landscape and a granite quarry
  • Family-friendly hike with moderate length and elevation
  • Inviting inn at the trail start for a relaxing break
  • Vibrant medieval festival with diverse activities
