Description

The Churburg in Südtirol looks back on around 800 years of castle and family history. Built around 1259 as a medieval fortress, it was later transformed into a Renaissance residence.

The armory is especially impressive and is considered the most important private armory in Südtirol. It displays custom-made armor that was once made for the ancestors of the owner and their soldiers.

  • One of the oldest playable organs in Südtirol and the oldest in the region
  • A romantic arcaded courtyard in the Renaissance style
  • The Jakobszimmer and Matscher Saal rooms, outstanding examples of the castle's history

If you're fascinated by knights, early music, and family history, there's plenty to discover at the Churburg.
