Denkmalhof Maurergut
Description
At Denkmalhof Maurergut, you get a special insight into ancient crafts! Here, you can observe the traditional Prangstangen (decorated poles) binding and learn about its creation, from flower arranging to pattern design. 🌸 The annual program offers you the chance to participate in wreath and Prangstangen binding. The beautifully decorated Prangstangen are ceremonially brought to Zederhaus Parish Church and are exhibited there for you until August 15, "Hoher Frautag." Also experience the festive procession to church with the Prangstangen, which is part of a solemn service – a true highlight!
Another fascinating craft presented in the museum is Holy Spirit carving. Here, you will be shown the art of carving peace doves from Swiss pine wood, a skill that Renate Pfeifenberger passes on in the third generation. For deeper insights, there are guided tours through the exhibitions as well as film screenings, which bring you closer to the history of Zederhaus in earlier times and traditional crafts such as wagon making, blacksmithing, and hay pulling.
