Description
Elbmarschenhaus with its multimedia exhibition is an exciting outing for both adults and kids. Test your knowledge of animals with the animal sound quiz, feel what’s hidden inside the tactile boxes, and admire the floodplain model showing side ditches filling with water. Informational panels tell you more about how the marsh formed and its inhabitants. Most impressive of all: the majestic sea eagle!
There’s also plenty to discover in the 7,000 m² outdoor area. Bees buzz, frogs croak, birds chirp – around every corner you can observe animals and plants. Everything explained inside you can experience up close outside!
Try for yourself how people used to drain the land – with a wooden shovel or a scoop wheel. And if you’re brave, try pole jumping! In the past, people used the pole to leap over ditches – you don’t need it anymore, but it’s still fun (as long as you don’t fall into the water!).
