Description

Wangen im Allgäu invites you to discover the lively bustle of the historic old town – a place full of medieval alleys and vibrant traditions that create a sunny family atmosphere. While wandering through small shops and cozy cafés, you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee and regional specialties like the Allgäuer Seelen.

The Wangener Wochenmarkt is a lively market with over 850 years of history, offering fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables, and handmade crafts – a real experience for the whole family.

Especially kid-friendly are the Kopfwäschebrunnen with its playful figure and the Antoniusbrunnen, also called “Sau-Done,” which features a life-sized saint with a sow and playful piglets. Here you can even discover pony rides suitable for children.

For relaxation, the natural riverside landscape of the Argen invites you, flowing around the town walls. Quiet benches and Kneipp wading pools provide restful breaks after adventurous family hikes along the trails by the river.

A walk along the Herrensstraße, one of southern Germany’s most beautiful historic streets, reveals fascinating architecture from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period – perfect for a shared exploration. The Rochuskapelle, with its rare painted wooden ceiling from 1598, also offers a quiet, impressive site for families.
