Description

Graphiteum im Graphit Kropfmühl Besucherbergwerk offers an exciting experience centered on the only graphite mine in Germany. The interactive exhibition is suitable for both children and adults.

The guided tour lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours and includes a short film as well as a visit to the underground area with a miner. In total, you should plan for 2 to 2.5 hours for your visit.

Temperatures underground stay steady at 10–12 °C, so be sure to dress warmly. Helmets and protective coats are provided for the tour, and sturdy closed shoes are required.

The museum and exhibition are wheelchair accessible, but the underground area with its 220 steps is not suitable for people with limited mobility or wheelchair users.
