Description

The Hällisch-Fränkisches Museum takes you on a journey through over 3000 m² of exhibition space into the history, art, and culture of the former imperial city of Hall and its surroundings – perfect for anyone who wants a diverse cultural experience.

The impressive museum complex consists of seven historic buildings dating from the 13th to 19th centuries, offering you an engaging dive into past eras thanks to its architecture.

Highlights include a reconstructed medieval freight crane in the basement of the Keckenburg 🏗️, showing how heavy stones were moved on construction sites in the past. There is also an area dedicated to the miniature sculptures of the Baroque artist Leonhard Kern.

In the former town mill, you’ll find exhibitions about Louis Braun, the father of German panoramic painting, and the winter garden showcases works by local artists. From prehistoric times through the Middle Ages to the 20th century and Jewish history, you’ll discover varied insights for the whole family.

The museum complements its permanent exhibition with three to four special exhibitions annually as well as occasional lectures in elegant event rooms, so there is always something new to discover on every visit.
