Hallenbad Ohligs
Description
The former Hallenbad Ohligs (built 1928–1930) is an impressive, photogenic brick building – ideal for family photos and local explorations. 📸
The hall offers ceilings up to 10 meters high, a broad sense of space and an unusual historic feature: twelve private resting cells that spark children's imaginations. Listed as a monument in 1987 and closed in 2011, the building tells much of the local swimming and school history; in 2016 it was used temporarily as refugee accommodation, thus serving as an example of later reuse.
If you are out with children or want to take photos, it's worth taking a close look at the details of the early gas heating and the unusual interiors.
