Description

The Heini Holzer Klettersteig on the Ifinger in South Tyrol is an adventure for young and experienced climbers alike. It is named after Heini Holzer, a friendly chimney sweep from Schenna who was among the great mountaineers of his time.

On the roughly 1 km route, these are the main highlights waiting for you:

  • 550 meters of elevation gained, secured by about 1000 meters of steel cable
  • Moderate difficulty (grade A–B, with some B/C sections) and no free-climbing sections
  • The Engelskante, an impressive rock passage as the final section

The climb takes about 3–4 hours, and the descent roughly 1.5 hours. The via ferrata suits mountain-experienced families with children who enjoy hiking and climbing. The minimum height is 1.50 m.
