Fishing permits and requirements

To fish at Herthasee, you need a valid fishing license and a fishing permit (permit or guest card). These are available as day, week, or year passes.

Fishing permits can be purchased at the Shell gas station in Holzappel, Hauptstraße 104.

Note regarding the bathing season

During the summer months from mid-June to the end of August, Herthasee is also used as a swimming lake. During the bathing operation hours, walking around the lake is only allowed with a valid swimming admission. Outside of bathing hours, the lakeshore is freely accessible to all visitors.
