Description

Heuneburg is the oldest town north of the Alps – a Celtic hillfort that thrived in the 6th century BC, even before Rome rose to prominence. From here, you have a breathtaking view over the Danube plain and can experience Celtic times come alive.

The site features remarkable Celtic grave finds from Heuneburg’s heyday and impresses with exciting highlights: the craftsman quarter processing precious raw materials, a Celtic plant world with valuable useful and dye plants, an archaeological educational trail around Heuneburg, and the Stone Gate as an imposing entrance to the fortress.

Heuneburg is part of the Celtic concept of Baden-Württemberg, making Celtic heritage visible and tangible. 🏰
