Description

The Koppenbrüllerhöhle is the youngest of the three Dachstein Caves. On a roughly 50-minute guided tour, you’ll learn how the cave was formed and discover stalactites that are thousands of years old along the way. The tour leads to the Bocksee, the source of the cave stream. 🦇

When snow melts or after heavy rain, a dry riverbed in the Simony Hall can turn into a roaring mountain stream within minutes. The guided tours, offered since 1910, are available in German and English and are suitable for families with children of all ages.

  • Underground art installations with drums on tall, stilt-like legs
  • Dripping water that creates a rhythmic sound inside the cave
  • Local legends, including the ghost story of Hofer Sef
  • Family-friendly trekking tours, such as the child-friendly “Kleine Abenteuerführung”
