Mozartkino
Description
Mozartkino is one of the oldest cinemas worldwide and the oldest privately run cinema in Salzburg. It features two auditoriums: a large hall with 263 seats and the listed Roman Hall with 136 seats.
The Roman Hall preserves visible remains of a Roman Asklepios temple from the 2nd century AD, discovered during renovations – creating a truly unique atmosphere for enjoying films.
Mozartkino has hosted numerous film premieres, including Austrian classics like 'Sissi', attended by celebrities such as Romy Schneider. The welcoming lobby combines a hotel reception, ticket sales, and a bar, making it a cozy meeting place for visitors.
Since 2014, screenings have been presented using modern digital projection technology thanks to two new digital projectors.
