Museumsdorf Hösseringen

Description
Museumsdorf Hösseringen offers you a diverse experience focused on the culture and economy of the Lüneburg Heath since 1975. Especially exciting for families are the many interactive activities – with its own playground and various animals to discover, children experience their visit up close and in a variety of ways.
Children and young people up to 18 years old have free admission. On event days, you can experience authentic workshops like the blacksmith, sawmill, and bakery live, as the crafts come to life. The museum also regularly offers creative and craft workshops, such as flax processing or wood carving – here you can create your own artworks.
A special highlight is the puppet theater exhibition with open, free outdoor puppet shows like the famous Punch & Judy Show, suitable for children from 5 years old 🎭. Those interested can discover original filming locations of the ARD series “Schwarzes Gold” from 2025 on guided tours.
Throughout the season, there are many other offerings: workshops, holiday programs, and themed tours with plenty of hands-on activities. Special features also include changing special exhibitions, for example on modern agricultural technology from the 1950s or on the use of natural stones.
The Museumsdorf also supports education with special tours and learning opportunities for all school types, including a seminar room and microscopes. On Sundays, you can choose between blacksmith and weaving demonstrations – a lively experience for both young and old.
