Description

At the Psychiatrie-Museum im kbo-Isar-Amper-Klinikum München-Ost in Haar, a fascinating journey through over 115 years of psychiatric history awaits you.

You'll discover numerous original exhibits that offer deep insights into life and work at one of Germany's largest psychiatric facilities. Did you know that the associated institution, which opened in 1912, once housed one of the first children's homes? 🧒

A special highlight is a recreated living space with original furniture, allowing you to experience the daily lives of patients and staff up to the 1970s. You'll also learn stories of well-known personalities who were treated here, including the writer Oskar Maria Graf and the biologist and painter Eugen Gabritschevsky.

The exhibition also addresses the dark period of the Nazi dictatorship and commemorates the victims through personal stories and faces of murdered individuals.
