Description

The Ruine Scharnstein invites you on an easy hike that takes you back to times long past – perfect for families looking for a mild outdoor experience.

The historic walls tell fascinating stories, from total destruction by fire in January 1538 to use during the Peasants' Wars around 1626, and the era of the Turkish threat around 1683. The ruin also offers insight into military history with storage of numerous weapons like heavy cannons, muskets, halberds, and more.

With an audio guide, also available through the XIBIT app, the visit becomes interactive and especially educational – great for kids and anyone who enjoys captivating stories.

Your pets are also warmly welcome 🐾, so you can enjoy this historic exploration together.

Plus, the ruin is freely accessible at all times – with no entrance fee – making it perfect for spontaneous family outings.
