Description

Silberbergwerk Schwaz invites you to follow the exciting footsteps of miners from the silver era 500 years ago and experience the harsh life of the Middle Ages up close.

The classic tour lasts about 90 minutes and offers fascinating insights into the challenges the miners faced back then. Especially impressive is the Schwazer Waterwheel, a technical masterpiece from 1556 used for lifting water in the mine.

In the silver shop, you’ll find shining jewelry and gemstones made of silver spread over about 150 m² – perfect for finding a special souvenir. Inside the mine, the temperature remains a pleasant and steady 12 degrees Celsius, ideal for cooling off in summer or for a dry family outing on rainy days.

The pollen-free mine is especially recommended for people with asthma and allergies, as the air is good for the respiratory system and promotes healthy lungs.

After your mining adventure, the Knappenkuchl restaurant invites you to enjoy delicious Tyrolean and international dishes – a treat for the whole family! 🍽️
