Spielplatz August-Bebel-Platz, Görlitz

Description
Access is provided via several ramps, a bridge, a bird ladder, and a tall climbing wall. A long box slide and a sliding pole offer thrilling ways to descend. Under the birdhouses, children can find quiet areas to relax. The play spaces created for both older and younger kids are not separated but set up right next to each other. For the little ones, a spacious sand play area has been designed, focusing on playing together and hands-on creativity. A small, separate birdhouse can be reached here via simple climbing and balancing routes and serves as a main attraction for little builders. Installed sand channels, a sand elevator, baking tables, and a sieve provide opportunities for sensory play with sand. Several platforms are connected by various climbing routes and incorporate an existing tree into the play landscape. Finally, a small slide here also offers the fun of a fast ride down. The playground builders used high-quality materials such as oak beams, plastic panels, and stainless steel. Colorful panels, window rings, and plates with colorful light effects have been integrated into the birdhouses. Turned wooden birds sit high above, watching the colorful activity on the playground. There is now a nest swing in Görlitzer Südstadt, offering all children a special swinging experience. The wild donkey comes from the previous playground design and might feel a bit nostalgic. But its unique swinging motion and its effect on the body and the feeling it gives are truly one of a kind.
