Description

Easy and challenging paths lead to the different play areas, creating diverse and shared play opportunities for all children, regardless of their individual abilities. A circular course intentionally integrates various inclusive play elements, such as a finger labyrinth, a sliding game, a sound game, or a gate made from rubber hoses, all of which are both barrier-free accessible and versatile, encouraging group play. Accessible via a barrier-free park path, boardwalks and balance and climbing trails lead to tall features like a climbing tower or a monkey bar course. From the highest point of the climbing tower, a new slide offers a thrilling ride down. In the middle, there is a large trampoline, also accessible without barriers. For little children, playground equipment for walking, crawling, or balancing is provided, designed to look like large snail eggs, playfully connecting to the vineyard snail that has been here since 1978.

After the removal of the worn-out climbing forest and the dilapidated stage, the historic hanging carousel also had to make way for the new play area. It was replaced by a new device that will be located at the playground entrance in the future. Existing playground equipment, such as the small treehouse, the double zip line, the balance bike, or the ping pong tables, remains available to the children and has been incorporated into the overall design. Further enhancements throughout the area include the renewal of plazas and pathways, the construction of a new fence to separate the railway tracks, the installation of new park benches, seating huts, and bike racks, as well as various replantings of trees and shrubs.

The decision to implement this playground concept was made earlier this year by a 12-member jury of representatives from child and youth work as well as planners.
