Taurachbahn offers you a ride on a nostalgic steam train through the beautiful Lungau region, just as it was 100 years ago.

As Austria's highest narrow-gauge railway, lovingly restored historic steam locomotives and open passenger cars run here, radiating the true charm of times gone by.

Children even receive a special souvenir – a piece of coal from the train driver – a great keepsake from this steam train experience 🚂.

In St. Andrä, an exciting witches' educational trail awaits children, plus there's a playground and various family-friendly hiking trails.

Another highlight is visiting Austria's smallest bar car aboard the train.

Experienced, child-friendly volunteers ensure a personal and educational ride – and for special occasions, the trains can also be booked exclusively for groups up to 250 people.
