Description

The Theater im Marienbad is home to the Freiburger Kinder- und Jugendtheater and has offered a continuous program for young audiences since 1989 🎭.

The stages are intentionally intimate: the Szenenraum seats up to 120, the Kesselhaus up to 60 – close to the performers. The Kesselhaus (former coal-furnace cellar) provides a historic, slightly unusual backstage atmosphere.

  • A varied repertoire from narrative pieces to large ensemble productions.

  • Workshops and theater-education offerings for school and daycare groups.

  • Intimate venues: Szenenraum (up to 120) and Kesselhaus (up to 60).

  • Guest performances from home and abroad as well as co-organization of the Freiburger Festival.
