Description

The Tiebelquellen are fed by the groundwater of the upper Gurktal and used to power over 100 mills, forges, and factories. 🌿

A beautiful and easy hiking trail (number 1) starts right at the Himmelberg town hall and leads past shady paths and picturesque villages all the way to the Tiebelquelle.

Along the way, you can experience impressive natural phenomena: the Tiebel springs through forest areas like a sieve, and historic water mills tell the story of how water power was used in the past.

The strong power of the Tiebel is already so great early on the trail that it can drive a sawmill – an impressive proof of the power of nature awaiting you on this hike.
