Description
In summer, the Tropic exhibition turns into a tropical world with live butterflies! The colorful tropical butterflies are the biggest attraction for children, including large species such as Papilio, Morpho, and Caligo. Sometimes the atlas moth can also be seen, which is considered the largest butterfly in the world.
Talking parrots and Loskutáky parrots invite you to chat, and a cockatoo can wave and even dance. In the rabbit enclosure, children can step inside and look at ornamental breeds of pigeons and pheasants.
The garden also has plenty to discover:
- Water features: a stream with three ponds and fish, a water wheel, a tipping water feature, and a stone fountain
- A 2 m high waterfall in the oldest greenhouse and nine more fountains in the largest tropical greenhouse
- Collections of minerals and fossils, carnivorous plants, and cacti
- An arboretum and Asian garden with ancient plants such as ginkgo and monkey puzzle tree, plus bamboo and bonsai
Since most of the exhibition is indoors, it is also an option for a family outing when it rains. A large stone exhibit has also recently been added, the heaviest weighing 3152 kg.
