Description

The Westallgäuer Heimatmuseum in Weiler-Simmerberg invites you to a fascinating journey through time! 🕰️ Experience history up close in an impressive, 350-year-old former inn. On four floors, you can explore meticulously recreated historic living spaces, from Gothic to modern times, richly furnished with original items – including authentic kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms, and of course, historic children's rooms.

A real highlight is the lovingly recreated Grüßer Family General Store from the 18th century. Here you'll discover a sample card with around 120 different fabrics and many other exciting historical goods.

The upper floors are dedicated to local millinery, where you can admire historic sewing machines and other equipment. Throughout the house, you'll also find an extensive collection of magnificent cabinets from various stylistic eras, including a Renaissance cabinet from 1726 and colorful peasant cabinets.

A particularly interesting find is the historic bed from 1799, which displays intriguing illustrations about the notions of 'good and bad child-rearing' at the time – a fascinating insight into times gone by!
