Description

Wildgehege Mesekendahl in Schalksmühle, located in the heart of the Märkische forests, is home to a diverse range of animals. Visitors can see around 15 species and about 120 individual animals, including red deer, fallow deer, wild boars, and bison. The facility also features dwarf and mountain goats, ferrets, pheasants, red foxes, coatis, Jacob sheep, Cameroon sheep, donkeys, raccoons, and ponies. This natural setting offers a chance to observe local wildlife up close and also provides the option to purchase feed for the animals on site. For refreshments, there are food and drink options such as coffee, cakes, waffles, and savory dishes from the charcoal grill. The paths throughout the wildlife park follow natural forest trails, some surfaced with gravel and crushed stone, which should be considered if mobility is limited. Wildgehege Mesekendahl was founded by Fritz Trimpop and has become a popular excursion destination in the region.
