Wolfsklamm
Description
The Wolfsklamm in Tirol is a popular family outing for children ages 6 and up 🥾. A steep, narrow path with 354 steps leads through the gorge, while bridges and footbridges cross turquoise pools. From the viewing platforms, you look far down onto the rushing water.
The gorge stays pleasantly cool on hot summer days, and the narrow rock walls create a special atmosphere even in light rain. The wooden walkway can be slippery, however.
- A waterfall at the end of the gorge that is especially impressive in spring
- A gentle, almost level return route to Stans with views of the Tuxer Alps
- St. Georgenberg Monastery, Tirol's oldest pilgrimage site, with two churches built into the rock
Strollers are not possible on the route, but smaller children can be carried in a kraxe carrier, and older children walk on their own.
