Description
The Zoologická zahrada Tábor-Větrovy is dedicated primarily to protecting endangered animal species. Spread across what is considered the largest zoo area in South Bohemia, it is home to more than 80 animal species, half of which are threatened. The zoo also promises especially close contact with its animals 🐾.
In addition, the zoo is the only facility in Europe permitted to keep and breed raccoons, even though the EU otherwise classifies the species as invasive.
- Participation in European conservation breeding programs with some of the most endangered species
- Keeper for a Day: hands-on insight into animal care
- Project to return the European bison to protected natural areas in Europe
