Description

Craftsmanship and treats, choirs and marching bands, a visit with Saint Nicholas and a lantern walk: the Tettnanger Adventsmarkt at the Neues Schloss enchants with a festive atmosphere on the first and second Advent weekends.

On the first and second Advent weekends a special Christmas market takes place in Tettnang in a festive setting. In the historic Schloss der Grafen von Montfort around 30 stalls offer practical, decorative and unusual gift ideas. The glowing Advent wreath avenue made of large wreaths marks the way.

Mayor Regine Rist opens Advent at the Castle with musical accompaniment. A special guest is Saint Nicholas with his helper. During the Saint Nicholas visiting hour and the lantern walk little visitors have the chance to tell the holy man their news and to sing accompanied by the Stadtkapelle.

The stage in the inner courtyard of the castle belongs to choirs and music ensembles from the region. The Christmas music – interpreted with brass or string instruments, accordion or voice – provides contemplative moments.

A highlight is the nativity scene with sheep and life-size figures, created on site by a wood artist. And anyone looking for peace amid the pre-Christmas bustle can enter the rooms of silence. In the Schlosskirche and the Kapelle St. Georg on Montfortplatz visitors find peaceful moments.

The Tettnanger Adventsmarkt makes the magic of the Christmas season tangible.

The path to the Christmas market leads across Montfortplatz past the Heavenly Post Office and the Advent calendar of good deeds. There the youngest send letters to the Christkind and count the days until Christmas.
