Description
On the third Sunday of Advent, the LVR Open-Air Museum Lindlar invites you to the traditional "Advent in the Museum." The historic rooms are festively decorated and showcase how Christmas celebrations changed between 1800 and 1960. Well-known Christmas carols and flickering lanterns along the path create a reflective atmosphere throughout the wintery museum grounds. Around 40 exhibitors display handcrafted items such as fine ceramics, high-quality jewelry, and handmade soaps in the historic buildings. Delicacies like fruit spreads, honey products, and Christmas pastries sweeten the Advent season. Traditional crafts come alive in the workshops: bakers offer fragrant pastries from the historic bakehouse, housekeepers demonstrate Christmas cooking, and artisans such as ribbon weavers, glassblowers, blacksmiths, and ropemakers showcase their skills. For children, there are interactive activities, storytellers, and a paper theater. Hot mulled wine and children's punch, as well as savory foods, provide refreshment. The museum's North Gate is open; if the weather is good, the North parking lot is also available. There are no parking fees.
