Description

Traditionally on the first Advent weekend, the TKS invites you to the Bad Laasphe Christmas Market.

The popular blend of an Advent and artisan exhibition at the Haus des Gastes along with the traditional Christmas Market in the old town is now an inseparable part of the Christmas season. Visitors can expect a magical and atmospheric time that gets both young and old into the special Advent and Christmas spirit by candlelight, treats for body and soul, children's programs, unique market stalls, open shops, and festive lighting.

Advent and artisan exhibition and Christmas café

Warm, dry, and thus weather-independent, a variety of vendors will again offer a diverse selection of uniquely and lovingly crafted goods at the Haus des Gastes this year. The selection includes handmade creations from a range of materials, artisan crafts and Christmas decorations, greeting cards, pine cushions, arrangements, wreaths, olive wood products, paintings, accessories, knitwear, plant-dyed wool, jewelry, soaps, as well as culinary delights like liqueurs and honey products. In addition, the DRK will host the popular Christmas raffle again. On Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m., the Kneipp Association Bad Laasphe’s Christmas café in the upstairs of the Haus des Gastes will be open. Enjoy coffee and homemade cake while chatting in a cozy atmosphere at beautifully decorated tables.

Atmospheric Old Town

The mood really comes alive while strolling through the Old Town under the beautiful Christmas gable lighting. Enjoy hearty sandwiches, game specialties, mushroom pan, soups, sausages and fries, as well as iron-cast waffles, crêpes, churros, homemade cookies and cakes – the Christmas spirit will warm you up from the inside out. Vendors and associations also offer delicious mulled wine varieties, eggnog, flaming punch, and non-alcoholic drinks to keep you warm.

On Saturday at 5:15 p.m., traditional Christmas trumpet sounds will ring out from the window of the St. Georg building at the Old Town fountain, marking the festive address by Pastor Post for the upcoming Advent and Christmas season. At 5:30 p.m., the Bad Laasphe youth fire brigade, together with angels, Santa Claus, Pastor Post, and the BAG “Schöne Altstadt” will switch on the gable lighting on Königstraße. In this uniquely festive atmosphere, the Christmas market evening can wind down comfortably in the old town until 9 p.m.

Santa Claus and Angels

The Christmas season is especially exciting and magical for the little ones. On both market days in Bad Laasphe, Santa Claus and his angels will be around to bring shining eyes to the children. They look forward to meeting as many children as possible. Kids can recite a poem or sing a song for them. Of course, there’s a tasty treat for everyone from the well-stocked jute sack.

Sunday shopping day

On Sunday, the market at the Haus des Gastes and in the old town is open again from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. While vendors offer their lovingly crafted goods, the doors of the Kneipp Association’s Christmas café will also be open again. Santa Claus and angels will make their rounds through the market and musical entertainment will be provided once more. Additionally, several Bad Laasphe retailers are happy to welcome your visit as stores will be open for shopping from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up all your Christmas gifts or treat yourself.

The Christmas market will close its doors this year at 6 p.m.
