Christmas Market at Kloster Steinfeld

Description
The Christmas Market at Kloster Steinfeld offers a unique experience in a historic setting. In the cloister and adjoining rooms, 56 exhibitors present a diverse range of handmade products, including ceramics, textiles, books, candles, soaps, artworks, and Christmas accessories. Industrially produced goods are deliberately excluded; some stalls support charitable causes.
A varied musical program enhances the market:
- The Folk-AG from Hermann-Josef-Kolleg performs Christmas chorals in the house chapel.
- The Coppertown Dixie Cooperation from Urft plays lively Christmas tunes in the Mutter-Maria-Lounge.
- The Bonn concert choir gives a concert in the basilica.
- The orchestra group from Hermann-Josef-Kolleg welcomes visitors with Christmas melodies at the monastery gate.
- The Trio Triskel Ivesthga takes you on a festive journey with Celtic harps in the house chapel.
Food and drink are served by the monastery kitchen in the refectory, offering regional specialties, complemented by grilled sausages and mulled wine from the Steinfelder Hof winery in Kröv.
To protect the historic interior areas, dogs are not allowed. Visitors with strollers are advised to leave them at the entrance and use baby carriers to enjoy the market experience with ease.
