LEER – Historical Old Town and its "Christmas Market Behind the Waag"

This beautiful Christmas market traditionally takes place on the four Sundays of Advent.

The market is open from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and stretches from the Museum Harbor to Garrelschen Garden. With great attention to detail, the volunteer members have built 23 small cabins modeled after the gables of the Old Town.

Here you can admire Tiffany made by hand, embroidery, felted items, recycled jewelry, candies, and much more.

People come together here to step away from the bustle, shopping frenzy, and stress to embrace what Christmas is really about: singing together with Christmas choirs, anticipation, and family togetherness.

Food and drink are also provided with Rullerkes, baked apples, Christmas cookies, poffertjes, waffles from the scouts, Speckendicken, mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle, punch, and much more.
