Christmas Miners' Supper (Mettenschicht)

The Mettenschicht is an old mining tradition. It refers to the last completed shift before Christmas. The name comes from the Christmas midnight mass following the shift.

At Grube Fortuna, we gladly uphold this mining custom and offer a small snack (goulash soup with "fette Brot" as well as mulled wine and cold drinks) for up to 32 guests. What makes it special: the Mettenschicht takes place at the original site, 30 meters underground!

Among other things, we will sing the traditional Steigerlied. In between, there will be storytelling about the history. Musical accompaniment by the Bläserkreis Dutenhofen!
