Description

The annual highlight at Hafen Ost in Wittmund Carolinensiel is the floating Christmas tree unveiling – a 15-meter tall tree on a pontoon in the museum harbor.

A particularly festive moment is around 6 p.m., when 300 LED lights illuminate the tree, creating a magical atmosphere that delights both young and old 🌟.

Santa Claus arrives by paddle steamer and hands out presents to the children – kicking off the cozy and heartfelt Christmas season.

What began as a small gathering in 1995 has grown into a widely known event throughout East Frisia. It is organized by the Weihnachtsbaum-Gemeinschaft Carolinensiel, an association made up of the original founders and their families.
